(Senior) Sustainability Manager

70-100% (or job sharing), Bern, Zurich, Lausanne and working from home

Do you have an entrepreneurial approach to sustainability and a desire to make a real impact? Then you're in the right place: we shape the future with clear goals, data-based decisions and pragmatic solutions. Strategic responsibility meets entrepreneurial freedom here. Join us – for a Swiss Post that acts now for tomorrow. You help us implement sustainability as part of the Group strategy “Swiss Post of tomorrow”.

How you make a difference

  • You shape the strategic direction of sustainability within the Group and refine the double materiality analysis, helping to embed it more in the Group strategy.
  • Drawing on your expertise, you bolster non-financial performance management and systematically dovetail it with financial controlling.
  • You ensure sustainability performance is monitored effectively, both internally and externally, and reported on in a transparent manner, from dashboards to annual reporting.
  • As lead or sparring partner, you spearhead Group-wide sustainability initiatives, ensuring the focus is on impact and execution.
  • Together with the team, you steer progress towards climate and energy targets and lay the groundwork for sound decisions at the highest level. You come up with concepts and decision-making bases that enable sustainable activities throughout the Group.
  • In the sustainability team, you position yourself as a committed, strategically minded partner with a pragmatic, far-sighted view.

What you have to offer

  • For this role, you have a higher university degree (Master's, MBA or PhD), ideally focusing on sustainable corporate management, business administration or economics, and majoring in sustainability, or an equivalent qualification.
  • You have experience in sustainability management, managing non-financial performance, and/or in sustainable strategy/business development. You put your many years of experience, combined with project and transformation expertise, to effective, targeted use, and you drive sustainability in a business context, from the concept itself to execution.
  • You are familiar with terms such as integrated thinking, double materiality and net zero, and you are able to holistically combine a financial and non-financial perspective.
  • You are a proficient communicator at all echelons of the organization, whether with technical experts or C-level partners, and you are a highly talented negotiator.
  • Joined-up thinking, strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as a strong, impact-oriented focus on results, are important to us. You thrive on challenge and are passionate about making Swiss Post sustainable.
  • You have an excellent spoken and written command of German and English. Any other national language is an advantage.

Remote working and working from home are possible. You are required to work on-site in Bern two days a week.

We offer you attractive and fair remuneration ranging from CHF 125'300 - 140'300 per year (on a full-time basis), depending on experience, qualifications and areas of responsibility. You also benefit from a variable salary component as well as comprehensive social security benefits and other discounts. Talented people with different skills are also welcome to apply. In such cases your salary may be slightly below or above the range.

What we have to offer

You'll enjoy attractive additional benefits:

  • Mobile and flexible working, home office, third place, part-time work and job sharing
  • Support with basic and advanced training, temporary job changes, promotion opportunities
  • Half Fare Travelcard, commuter bonus or GA Travelcard coupon, PubliBike subscription for 20 francs per year
  • 18 weeks of maternity leave and 4 weeks of leave for the second parent, with a contribution to supplementary family childcare.
