Stadler has recently decided to expand its power converter factory. The facility will supply converters to Stadler's production sites worldwide, as well as to external customers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Head of Engineering in managing and developing the Engineering Department, with a particular focus on electrical and electronic components.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of electrical solutions and components, ensuring compliance with technical, quality and project schedule requirements.
  • Manage and develop engineering teams, including resource planning, task delegation and supporting employee competence development.
  • Coordinate close collaboration with cross‑functional departments, including - Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Project Management.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and the optimization of engineering processes.
  • Ensure compliance of technical documentation and engineering activities with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
  • Represent the Engineering function in internal and external contacts, including customers and technical partners.
  • Act as a deputy to the Head of Engineering in assigned operational and decision‑making responsibilities.

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in a technical field, preferably Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in a managerial or deputy managerial role within engineering or production, with a strong focus on electrical components.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage and develop engineering teams, support senior management and contribute to technical and organizational decision‑making.
  • Flexibility and readiness to work in a dynamic, fast‑changing industrial environment, including participation in change and optimization initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and perform effectively under time pressure in project‑ and production‑driven environments.
  • High level of accountability, commitment and a proactive approach to solving technical and organizational challenges.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Understanding of the economic aspects of engineering work and developed designs.
  • Experience in power electronics development.
  • Experience working in an Engineering Department, particularly with a focus on power electronics.
  • Knowledge of German will be considered an advantage.
