HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

The Freight Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the shipment of goods, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with all applicable regulations. This role involves working closely with carriers, vendors, warehouse teams, and internal departments to optimize freight operations.

Key Activities
• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate transportation.
• Track and trace shipments, proactively resolving delays or issues.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and freight invoices.
• Analyze freight costs and negotiate rates with carriers to optimize transportation spend.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations.
• Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to align logistics with business needs.
• Maintain accurate records in transportation management systems (TMS) or ERP platforms.
• Monitor carrier performance and provide feedback or corrective actions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in freight coordination, logistics, or transportation.
• Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, Incoterms, and freight documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TMS).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
