Strategic Advisor for Cross-Border Teaching (natural science focus)

This is a limited term, 9-month position at 75%, scheduled to start on February 1, 2026.

Your position

As a Strategic Advisor for Cross-Border Teaching (natural science focus), your role focuses on the development of sustainability-focused course offerings at the University of Basel. Specifically, it comprises:
  • Supporting the development of flipped classroom courses (e.g., for the Pathways to Sustainability course program);
  • Conducting a market analysis of existing courses in the field of sustainable development in the European context;
  • Supporting the strategic development of Bachelor's and Master's level courses at the University of Basel in collaboration with Eucor and EPICUR partners.

In your work to further develop the University of Basel's sustainability-related courses, you will make targeted use of the unique opportunities offered by the European university networks Eucor – The European Campus and EPICUR, the European University Alliance. While Eucor, as a trinational network in the Upper Rhine region, has been promoting cross-border interuniversity cooperation for more than three decades, EPICUR, as a European university alliance, is opening up new perspectives through innovative and intercultural teaching formats in the key areas of sustainability and European identities. The aim of both EUCOR and EPICUR is to exploit synergies, jointly expand the range of courses on offer, provide high-quality teaching, and enable students to gain innovative cross-border and intercultural learning experiences in the field of sustainability.

You will recognize and exploit the potential of these networks for sustainability-related teaching at the University of Basel. In doing so, you will contribute to combining academic excellence with practical, transformative approaches – and thus help shape the future of sustainability education in a European context.
