Residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia

The Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy Section of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Science, Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Bern, Switzerland, invites applications for a residency position starting August 2022.

The training programme is approved by the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) and lasts 3 years.

We offer
The resident will join the anaesthesia team to provide anaesthesia and analgesia in the 3 hospitals of the clinical department and will contribute to out of hours emergency duties. Participation to teaching of students, interns and nurses is expected. Protected time to study and prepare the credentials to pass the ECVAA exam will be guaranteed (approx. 30% of the total time).
Requirements
The applicant should have taken part in a rotating internship or have solid clinical experience in general practice (at least 2 years) to fulfil the requirements foreseen by the residency program.

The candidate must have enthusiasm for anaesthesia, be a team player, have good communication skills, fluent English language and willingness to learn German.
