Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. In the next few years over 150 new Stadler trains will be joining the UK Rail Network which signifies the start of an exciting future for Stadler in the UK. Our current depot locations are in Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich offering a wide scope of opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the UK Rail Industry.

We are seeking to appoint a Procurement Coordinator to join our Supply Chain and Logistics team. The successful candidate will be based at one of our UK locations listed above. Reporting to the UK Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the procurement processes to develop and maintain a competitive, transparent, and sustainable supply chain within the organisation. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will explore risks and opportunities across the entire process to achieve the agreed business goals and KPIs. You will also analyse data and provide clear, concise reports to the team to assist in achieving the department's KPIs.

Your duties will include

• Design and implement procurement tools that maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance value across the supply chain.
• Coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers and managing purchase orders.
• Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and supplier capabilities. Utilise this information to support the Procurement Manager on making informed sourcing decisions.
• Evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers, ensuring they meet company standards for quality, compliance, and performance.
• Lead the tendering process, including preparing and managing Requests for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to ensure competitive supplier selection.
• Assist in budget planning and forecasting for procurement-related expenses.
• Where required, support the Logistics Coordinator to ensure smooth transportation and distribution of materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal performance and collaboration.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, QHSE, HR and engineering teams, to understand procurement needs, provide guidance, and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain. Develop contingency plans to ensure supply chain continuity.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supplier performance and success. Regularly review and analyse performance data to drive improvements.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.

• 2 Years + Supply Chain Sourcing / Procurement experience, preferably within the rail industry
• Advanced Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power-Point skills
