EHS Manager for Switzerland & Europe
The local & regional EHS Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping a safe and sustainable work environment across Uzwil and the Europe region. This strategic position leads EHS practices by driving innovation, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of Zero Harm that aligns with Bühler's global EHS objectives.
- You support the implementation of strategic Global EHS plans, set clear regional and local objectives in alignment with global goals, ensure accurate EHS data management, monitor and report on regional and local EHS performance metrics, set targets, and implement measures for continuous improvement, while serving as the primary point of contact for EHS performance and compliance risks in the region and on site.
- You develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive regional EHS program that addresses specific compliance risks, ensure appropriate processes are in place for legal EHS compliance, stay abreast of regional and local EHS legislation to advise Bühler locations and affiliates on compliance strategies, and guide the integration of EHS standards and best practices across all locations and affiliates.
- You develop and deliver impactful safety training programs to employees and management, ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures, actively participate in global EHS audits as an auditor, support the investigation of EHS incidents to identify root causes and contribute to the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- You conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards, develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address identified risks, and lead accident investigations to implement measures preventing recurrence.
- You coordinate and support the investigation of EHS incidents and near-misses, track and analyze incident data to identify trends, implement preventive measures, and prepare and submit incident reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Degree in environmental health and safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field as well as a minimum of 5 years experience in EHS management, particulary in regional or multi-site roles within innovative and dynamic environments
- Proficiency in EHS software and Microsoft Office and ability to analyze data and track safety metrics effectively
- Very good communication skills in German and English
- Willigness to travel up to 30%
- Strong leadership and team management abilities to drive EHS initiatives and foster a proactive EHS culture within the organization as well as strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement
