Professorship in One Health (open rank)

The University of Basel, in collaboration with Swiss TPH, invites applications for a Professorship in One Health (open rank).

Your position

With a proven track record in research and the acquisition of competitive research funding, you will complement and enhance the research portfolio of Swiss TPH, in particular on integrated approaches to health/One Health at the theoretical and methodological level within the broader Basel life sciences community. You will contribute to teaching at the graduate and professional postgraduate level. The position includes serving as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and consultation to internal and external stakeholders and policy-makers. Ideally, the position includes a Swiss or equivalent veterinary clinical authorization and oversees the animal health and welfare at Swiss TPH.

Your profile

We are interested in candidates with a proven track record of leading interdisciplinary research teams, managing complex projects and programmes in different settings, including low- and middle-income countries. You have a record of high-quality and impactful publications, a distinct teaching portfolio with experience in developing and teaching courses in integrated methods at University level as well as supervision experience of MSc and PhD students. You have experience in providing guidance on national, regional and global policy (e.g. WHO guidelines and policy briefs). You have advanced interpersonal skills in developing and nurturing productive research partnerships, particularly in resource-constrained settings. You are fluent in English and at least one national language in Switzerland (German, French or Italian). Holding a Swiss or equivalent veterinary clinical authorization is an asset.
