PrecisionLab, led by Prof. Jose Garcia-Tirado, aims to develop new technology for managing diabetes and metabolic disorders through novel digital interventions such as advanced decision-support tools and automated insulin delivery.

Job purpose and responsibilities
Job purpose:
The Precision Metabolic Medicine Network (PM2N) is a joint venture between the University of Bern (Switzerland) and McGill University (Canada) to foster the implementation of advanced predictive digital tools and therapeutics for metabolic disorders. For this position, the selected person will oversee the management of the network and help steer the nested academic projects and initiatives that contribute to advancing research, education, and collaboration within the involved academic community. The plan is to make this partnership sustainable and, in due time, to expand to other disease areas and health sciences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the network stakeholders, assist in planning and executing the network's core mission, including project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Plan, track, and document project meetings (minutes).
  • Keep track of the network's funding.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between partners and collaborators, academic institutions, funding agencies, and other stakeholders to align goals and expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, proposals, and other relevant materials. Provide regular updates to the principal investigators.
Requirements
A Must:
  • A master's in Life Sciences, business administration, management, or a related field with at least three years of experience in project management roles. Years of experience may be considered instead of postgraduate education.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory processes for clinical trials within Switzerland and the EU.
  • Fully proficient in written and spoken German and English. Proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Highly effective organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to plan, identify risks, anticipate issues and outcomes, and respond strategically, tactically, and operationally while balancing short-term and long-term objectives.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in projects involving data sciences applied to health and medicine is an asset.
  • Experience in fundraising.
