Lecturer (Dozent:in) in Urogenital Engineering
Project Description
The position will be hosted at the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, which is the University of Bern's transdisciplinary Center of Excellence for medical technology research. Its mission is to tackle unmet clinical needs and envision future challenges in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment to create viable healthcare technology solutions with imagination, agility, and purpose. Its projects run from discovery and basic research to clinical translation.Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in urogenital engineering and related fields of biomedical engineering
- Supervision of student projects (e.g., MSc theses, PhD projects)
- Conducting independent research
- Acquisition of research funding, including competitive research grants
- Heading the research group for Urogenital Engineering at the ARTORG Center
Requirements
- Master's degree and PhD in biomedical engineering (or equivalent)
- Habilitation (or equivalent) in a field related to urogenital engineering
- Experience in graduate-level teaching in biomedical engineering
- Strong track record of independent research in urogenital engineering
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
