Principal Mechanical Development Engineer

Your tasks
- Develop and evaluate innovative product and technology concepts for future antenna solutions, taking technical, commercial, and manufacturing requirements into account
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, and demonstrators, and develop test fixtures to validate new solutions and product concepts
- Identify, evaluate, and introduce new materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies in close collaboration with internal and external experts
- Independently plan, execute, and manage advanced engineering projects from the initial concept and feasibility studies through to technical implementation
- Build and coordinate functional prototypes, demonstrators and customer samples using rapid prototyping methods, and conduct proof-of-concept activities
- Collaborate closely with internal specialists as well as external partners, universities, and research institutions to advance innovation and explore new solution approaches
- Protect innovations by contributing to patent applications, thereby safeguarding intellectual property and strengthening technological competitiveness
Your profile
- Degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing., Master's, Bachelor's, University of Applied Sciences, ETH, or equivalent) with a technical specialization, ideally complemented by prior vocational training
- Several years of professional experience in research and development, including patent-related activities
- Knowledge of toolmaking, materials engineering, FEM simulation, and design of experiments is an advantage
- Strong communication skills, a confident and professional manner when interacting with customers, colleagues, and suppliers, and a collaborative mindset
- Very good command of English (B2 level) and experience in applying standards such as IATF, IRIS, and MIL.
