Technician in Histology Core Facility (70-75%)

Your position

We are looking for a skilled Histology Technician to prepare and process tissue samples, perform staining, and support researchers with accurate, reproducible results. You'll maintain equipment, manage samples, and ensure lab safety while contributing to innovative projects.

What You'll Do:
  • Fix, embed, section, and stain tissue samples (H&E, IHC, and specialized stains).
  • Operate and maintain infrastructure and lab equipment (e.g. microtomes, automated stainers, and tissue processors).
  • Track and manage samples and data with precision.
  • Develop new protocols and methods.
  • Implement quality control and troubleshoot histology processes.
  • Assist and train researchers on sample prep and techniques.

Your profile

  • 2-5 years in histology, pathology, or translational research labs.
  • Proficiency in tissue processing and staining techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and German required; other languages are a plus.

Bonus Skills: 
Experience with IHC, ISH, laser capture microdissection, tissue clearing or digital microscopy.
