The National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) AntiResist is a Swiss-wide research consortium funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). AntiResist is transforming antibiotic discovery and development through in vitro modelling of in-patient conditions in order to address antibiotic resistance, a problem of global importance. To reach this goal, AntiResist has assembled a panel of experts in the fields of clinical research, infection biology, engineering, chemistry, computation, and pharmacology.
Biomedicine at the University of Basel, University Hospital Basel, and the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) of ETH Zurich in Basel work in close proximity to each other at the Life Science Campus in Basel. Additional research groups are located at the ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich, Balgrist University Hospital, the EPFL Lausanne, the University of Lausanne, the University of Geneva, Uppsala University in Sweden, and the Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheva, Israel.
NCCR AntiResist aims to train the next generation of researchers and clinicians in infectious diseases using novel interdisciplinary approaches. To support this aim, NCCR AntiResist is awarding a unique, annual Research Fellowship in Infection and Treatment for clinicians.
