Professor of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology
The Faculty of Medicine Basel and the University Children's Hospital Basel (UKBB) are advertising the position of a structural clinical professorship as part of a reappointment.
Your position
You will be responsible for the clinical, operational and academic aspects of paediatric haematology and oncology at the University Children's Hospital Basel. As a member of the Chief Medical Staff of the University Children's Hospital Basel, you are jointly responsible for the medical management of the clinic. You will also lead the “Pädiatrische Hämatologie und Onkologie Nordwestschweiz” network, a strategic cooperation between the KSA Children's Hospital Aarau and the UKBB to ensure excellent, close-to-home care delivery in northwestern Switzerland. Your inclusive, goal-oriented understanding of leadership ensures an attractive working environment for academic and clinical specialists in the department. Your clinical expertise and interest in continuing medical education ensures and promotes the up-to-date training and continuing education of paediatric interns, residents and attending physicians as well as physicians in the context of continuing education in paediatric hemato-oncology in accordance with the requirements of the Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education (SIWF). You will lead a research group thematically anchored in paediatric hematology and oncology and develop a fertile environment for a successful research team. A research focus in the area of personalized care for children and adolescents with hemato-oncological diseases is particularly welcome.
Your profile
You have broad clinical experience in paediatric hematology and oncology as well as in general paediatrics. Expertise in the field of stem cell transplantation / cellular therapies is welcome. You have a successful research track record, including competitive third-party funding and excellent scientific publications in the field of paediatric hematology and oncology and are motivated to take advantage of the interdisciplinary research environment in Basel. Thanks to your distinctive expertise, your leadership and communication skills as well as your high level of social competence, you will gain acceptance and trust. You create an attractive working environment, inspire creative thinking and action and support your employees. You have a very good command of German.
