Role Overview:
As a Materials Handler based at the Norwich Crown Point Depot, this role reports into the Materials Manager. As a Materials Handler you will be working within a warehouse environment to efficiently move, handle, and store a variety of materials. Key responsibilities include tracking inventory, accurately recording orders, and ensuring merchandise is stored in the correct locations to support an organised and effective operation. Processing in-bound and out bound orders, packing key components adequately for supply chain and ensuring security of the extensive inventory. The role is a shift-based position mirroring that of our engineering team, working a pattern of days, nights and weekends for our 24/7 operation.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Key Responsibilities:In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for verifying the accuracy of incoming deliveries, ensuring both quantity and quality meet expectations. Every product will be carefully identified and placed in its designated location to maintain a well organised warehouse environment.
You'll play a key part in the delivery process by identifying and locating the correct products efficiently and accurately. Maintaining the WMS for accurate records of stock and inventory will be essential to support smooth operations and timely reporting.
Handling returns will involve completing technical documentation and coordinating the necessary communication to resolve issues effectively. You'll also take pride in keeping all material handling equipment in top condition through regular maintenance checks.
This role includes monitoring product availability, communicating purchasing needs, and helping to manage items in short supply. Collaboration is key and you'll work closely with internal teams to track down missing packages, correct delivery errors, and arrange replacements for damaged goods.
