HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
The RAM Engineer is an entry‑level engineering role responsible for supporting reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis for systems, components, and equipment. This position assists senior engineers with data collection, modeling, failure analysis, and improvement initiatives that enhance system performance and reduce downtime. The RAM Engineer I applies fundamental engineering principles, follows established procedures, and contributes to technical documentation and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in performing basic reliability analyses such as failure rate calculation, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
• Support root‑cause investigations of failures and document findings.
• Participate in reliability testing, inspections, and equipment performance reviews.
• Gather operational, maintenance, and failure data from field teams, logs, and maintenance systems.
• Maintain reliability datasets and ensure accuracy of data inputs.
• Prepare summary reports, charts, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in developing reliability block diagrams (RBDs) and availability models under guidance from senior engineers.
• Support failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA) activities.
• Perform basic statistical analysis using engineering tools and software.
• Contribute to maintainability assessments by recording repair times, tool requirements, and procedural steps.
• Help evaluate equipment downtime trends and propose basic process improvements.
• Assist in reviewing maintenance manuals, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Learn and apply applicable industry standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑1629, IEC 60300‑3, ISO reliability standards, or sector‑specific requirements).
• Follow company engineering processes, documentation standards, and safety practices.
• Support audits, reviews, and compliance reporting as required.
• Work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to gather information and support improvement initiatives.
