Your tasks
As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be a member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces and integrating systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Create concepts, specifications and technical documentation for various passenger train systems
• Responsible for the design and integration of assigned systems into various rail vehicles
• Coordinate technical and project system requirements between Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and other engineering teams
• Act as the primary technical liaison for Stadler's contracted external system suppliers
• Interpret and incorporate local, federal, and customer requirements into system design
• Define procurement documentation, type testing, and commissioning documentation
• Support static and dynamic field testing of rail vehicles
• Responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAI) of assigned systems
• Follow scheduling, budgetary goals and guidelines
• Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration
Your profile
Qualifications• BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering discipline
• Experience with designing and defining complex systems
• Independent and well-structured working methods
• Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines
• Excellent communication, technical writing and problem-solving skills
• Great 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA V5 is a plus)
• Experience working in a PLM system (SmarTeam or TeamCenter is a plus)
