Key research activities at the DBM are aimed at developing and clinically implementing innovative, cell-based treatment strategies for cartilage repair in orthopedic, spinal and reconstructive surgery. Within the context of a 4-year EU Project Prof. Ivan Martin (leader of the Tissue Engineering group & head of the DMB) and Prof. Andrea Barbero (leader of the Cartilage Engineering group) seek a Lab assistant/ Pharmaceutical technical assistant for cartilage regenerative therapies.

Your position

The tasks include an active participation in the design and execution of:

  • Manufacturing of cell-based medicinal products in a GMP facility (clean room)
  • Writing of manufacturing protocols and establishing GMP-compliant documentation
  • Validation of new procedures and qualification of new equipment for GMP use
  • Management of disposable material for production in clean room
  • Development of assays (viability, potency, identity, purity) for cell-based medicinal products

Your profile

  • Strong motivation and interest to work in translational research
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibilities within a team
  • Consolidated experience in cell culture and standard analytical methods (histology, biochemical assays)
  • Experience in working in a GMP environment preferred
  • Good command in English, spoken and written (in addition, German an asset)
  • High reliability, flexibility and problem-solving attitude
