HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, you will be a viable member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces, and integrating various systems.

Key Activities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
• Oversee design and development of mechanical systems for rail vehicles (car bodies, interiors, HVAC integration, etc.)
• Create and establish engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverable in coordination with cross-functional teams (electrical, production, procurement, and project management).

• Support design reviews, customer meetings, and audits as needed.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex engineering issues.
• Ensure cost and schedule compliance for Mechanical Engineering work packages, initiation of any escalations, and resolution actions.
• Participate in supplier negotiations, First Article Inspections, and bid projects.
• Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficient assembly.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's is preferred)
• 7+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering in railway, aerospace, automotive, defense or similar industries
• 2+ years of leadership or team lead experience
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD and PDM software (CATIA V5 and SmarTeam experience is a plus)
• Able to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills in an international working environment
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Fluent in English both verbal and written. German is a plus!
