Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Personnel:
· Receipt, stocking and issue of material to staff; preparation of material by request for local depots as required.
· Assist in system activities (including IT based systems) to include ordering of material and receipt / issue of stock items.
· Assist in identifying and maintaining optimum levels of stock. This will include using ERP, EAM software, liaising with suppliers, and providing feedback at daily meetings.
· Monitoring of the packaging and receipting of all material on goods inwards and outward, including warranty returns and recording of serial numbers of assets.
· Ensuring comprehensive records are maintained, analysed and reported upon to inform future production and supply requirements.
· Carry out storekeeping activities associated with correct stock handling procedures, such as:
- Stock counts
- Control of 'shelf life'
- Stock rotation of material (e.g. new to back; old to front)
- Control of COSHH material
· Maintain stores and storage areas e.g. modification of stores, colour-coded designated floor zones and any other zone controlled systems.
· Managing suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and early warning of issues.
· Carry out all tasks as requested by the Materials Manager or Engineering Director, and in their absence, their nominated deputy, in accordance with personal competence levels required.
· Delivery of required equipment to the appropriate location.
· Continuously seek to identify efficiencies and improvements to how Stadler manage materials, including but not limited to purchasing, storage and distribution of materials.
Organisational:
· Support the development and implementation of standards and procedures in accordance with legal, legislative and moral obligations of Stadler.
· Responsible for adhering to safety / quality systems and support the implementation thereof
· Demonstrate values based behaviour.
· Assist in achieving material management targets on a continual basis in line with business and functional targets.

What are we looking for?
Essential:· Knowledge of material supply principles, procedures and practices.
· IT skills in Microsoft Office and other applications used for stock management.
Desirable:
· Understanding of rolling stock maintenance practices including the requirements and use of materials and parts.
· A knowledge of H&S regulations applicable to the railway and the workplace.
· Forklift truck experience and/or licence.
· Experience of continuous improvement.
· Professional qualification in stores management and stock control.
· Proven experience of operation with stock control and purchasing systems.
· Knowledge of various ERP, EAM software packages, specifically Infor products.
· Experience of identifying and implementing continual improvement to material management and purchasing.
