HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be a viable member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing safety and fire protection topics.
Key Activities
• Create safety concepts for passenger rail vehicles regarding fire protection and evacuation
• Create fire risk analysis
• Create specifications for internal and external customers
• Interpret and incorporate local, federal as well as customer requirements into system design
• Define procurement documentation, type testing and commissioning documentation
• Approval of materials, products and components in regard to fire protection
• Compiling fire protection documentation for regulatory bodies, agencies and customers
• Follow scheduling, budgetary goals and guidelines
• Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration
QUALIFICATIONS
• BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering• Independent and well-structured working methods for integrating multiple projects, conducting testing and preparing all deliverables associated with the system
• Excellent communication, technical writing, problem solving and teamwork skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience with fire protection in railway, defense, aerospace, automotive or similar industries
• Experience with NFPA 130 is a plus
• Able to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative in order to maintain project timelines
• Business fluent in English (German is a plus)
