The Project Manager/Assistant to the Head of Production provides administrative, operational, and coordination support to ensure efficient management of rail production and maintenance activities. This role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day operations, tracking performance, coordinating communication, and ensuring compliance with rail industry standards.
Key Activities
• Assist the Head of Production in coordinating daily rail production and maintenance activities.
• Follow up on action items, deadlines, and operational priorities.
• Support coordination between departments (engineering, operations, supply chain, safety).
• Manage calendars, meetings, and communications for the Head of Production.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and production performance summaries.
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and production data.
• Organize operational reviews and production schedule.
• Collect and analyze production and maintenance data (e.g., fleet performance, delays, availability).
• Prepare dashboards and KPI reports.
• Help identify trends and highlight operational risks or inefficiencies.
• Act as a liaison between the Head of Production and internal teams.
• Ensure clear communication of production priorities and updates.
• Support escalation and resolution of operational issues.
• Assist in coordinating production improvement initiatives and maintenance projects.
• Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
• Support implementation of new tools, systems, or rail technologies.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.• Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a manufacturing environment, with preference for rail industry experience.
• Proven experience in administrative or coordinator roles supporting senior leadership.
• Exposure to and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or operational setting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Data analysis and reporting skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
