Research coordinator for the Swiss Paediatric Airway Cohort Study
(80-100 %)

Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM), University Bern

Asthma is the most common chronic respiratory disease in childhood. However, asthma diagnosis in children is still complex and we still do not know which child will continue to have symptoms later in life and which will grow out of it. The Swiss Paediatric Airway Cohort (SPAC) study is an ongoing large clinical cohort study of currently more than 4500 children seen in several respiratory outpatient clinics in Switzerland, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. We look for an experienced research coordinator, who will be responsible for the project management of the SPAC study.

The candidate will work at ISPM Bern and will manage the SPAC study. This will include the following tasks:
  • Manage the study data base, conduct and oversee data entry and monitor data completeness.
  • Communicate with stakeholders including collaborating clinicians and participants.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal team members and external collaborators.
  • Develop and conduct online questionnaire surveys and databases.
  • Support nested clinical projects in the SPAC study team.
  • Contribute to data analysis, preparation of research publications, newsletters, study website and reports.
  • Conduct some administrative tasks of the research groups.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in health sciences, public health, epidemiology or a related field.
  • Experience in working with study databases (e.g., REDCap) and data management for research purposes.
