Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Cancer Research
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position immediately available in the group of PD Dr. Ren-Wang Peng at the laboratory of Prof. Ralph A. Schmid, Division of General Thoracic Surgery, Department of Biomedical Research (DBMR), Bern University Hospital (Inselspital) and University of Bern, Switzerland.
Our laboratory has long-standing interest in the research of drug resistance mechanisms and the development of innovative strategies for cancer therapy. Successful candidate will work on a project to investigate synergistic combination strategies for the treatment of KRAS-mutant lung cancer. The investigation will involve 3D culture (organoids), functional genomics with CRISPR/Cas9, single cellsequencing and genetically engineered mouse models (GEMM).
The position offers excellent scientific opportunities in a highly stimulating environment and close collaborations with experts from different disciplines. State-of-the-art technology platforms necessary for the success of this project are available in the laboratory, at the DBMR and at the University of Bern. The position is funded by Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) for at least two years.
Applicants should hold a recent PhD degree in biology, medicine or closely related fields, with a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology and genetics, and a proven track record and technical expertise in molecular cancer research and mouse models of cancer. Expertise in TCGA dataset analysis using "R software" will be an additional asset.
