Employment is fixed term for 18 months.
Within the Isotope Geology group at the Institute of Geological Sciences, we work on the SNF project: 'The fate of Earth's depleted mantle'. Within this framework, the post-doctoral researcher's project is focused on water contents, geochemistry and geochronology of mantle xenoliths and diamonds.
Tasks
- Performing geochemical analyses (FTIR, EPMA, LAICPMS, TIMS, MCICPMS) of mantle xenoliths and diamonds and their inclusions
- Writing scientific manuscripts for publication
- Present at conferences
- Contribute to the running of labs and institute
Requirements
- PhD in Petrology/Geochemistry
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Experience with in-situ geochemical analyses (e.g., FTIR, EPMA) and/or clean laboratory and isotope analyses (e.g., TIMS, MCICPMS)
