Your tasks

As an Electrical Propulsion Engineer, you will be a viable member of a team focused on building high-quality, state-of-the-art passenger trains.

Key Activities
• Enjoy receiving direct mentorship, training and supervision from an industry expert
• Conceptual design and layout of the electrical drive systems in passenger rail vehicles (power electronics, transformer, motor, energy storage, pantograph)
• Integration of these components into our vehicles
• Technical coordination with other disciplines (software creation, installation planning, mechanical engineering, purchasing, etc.)
• Cooperation with customers and suppliers
• Calculations and simulations regarding energy consumption and trip duration of our vehicles
• Support during the initial commissioning phase of the vehicles
• Support of type tests (e.g. creation of type test specifications)
• Support and analysis of technical problems during operation

Your profile

Qualifications
• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar field
• 3+ of relevant experience in railway, defense, or similar
• Knowledge of, or interest in, electrical drive technology or the rail vehicle industry
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills
• Business fluent in English (German is a plus)
• Experience in electrical / mechanical design
• Experience with schematic software, MS Office, PLM and ECN systems (e.g. E3, SmarTeam)
• Experience with MATLAB is a plus
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits and testing on vehicles
