2-year Postdoctoral Researcher Position (Political Science/Political Psychology)

At the Research Group of Political Sociology and Political Psychology of the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern (Switzerland), we currently seek to fill a 2-year Postdoctoral Researcher Position (24 months) from 1 February 2023 (or by agreement). You will contribute to an ongoing research program that examines the links between crises, emotions and both political as well as social foundations of democracy (political trust, democratic support, tolerance, affective polarization, conspiracy beliefs, etc.). The program is conducted by Professor Markus Freitag.
Tasks
You will develop joint research ideas broadly related to the above-mentioned topic. An emphasis lies on the collection of experimental data (funding is available for large-scale data collection efforts) that will be published in top international journals.
Requirements
- Excellent Ph.D. in political science
- Excellent publication record (i.e. publications in international journals or prestigious presses or demonstrate the potential thereof)
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative methods (esp. survey experiments)
- Experience in at least one of the following research areas: Public opinion and political behavior, political sociology, political psychology
- Strong command of English
