3-year Postdoctoral Researcher Position

At the Research Group of Political Sociology and Political Psychology of the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern (Switzerland), we currently seek to fill a 3-year Postdoctoral Researcher Position (36 months) from 1 April 2022 (or by agreement). You will contribute to the project “The Politics of Public Health Threat”, in which we study the exposure to Covid-19, emotional responses, and attitudes towards coping with in- and outgroups in European countries. The project is conducted by Professor Markus Freitag and is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Tasks
You will support the principal investigator with experimental data collection, data analysis and the publication of the results in top international journals.
Requirements
  • Excellent Ph.D. in political science or related field
  • International publications
  • Excellent knowledge of quantitative methods (e.g, causal inference, survey experiments)
  • Experience in at least one of the following research areas: Public opinion and political behavior, political sociology, political psychology
  • Strong command of English
